Should I cut my cat's hair?

Animal’s hair grows just as human’s hair does. As it grows it dies and falls out. Dogs and cats remove this excess hair by a process of grooming. They will lick the coat and often swallow the hair. When cats and dogs are healthy they do not             need human assistance for hair removal.

As cats get older they sometimes develop illnesses such as arthritis and other diseases that prevents them from self grooming. In these cases the cat’s hair does need to be clipped.
